This is the third painting of a new series called “Walk the Talk”. Becoming an art teacher and instructor, I have realized I have not been using the skills that I have taught in my own production. My next challenge as an artist was to utilize the skills I teach. This new resolution has allowed me to not only become a stronger art instructor, but I have improved my technical skills as an artist. This painting was inspired by a picture I took from my parents house in the Loire Valley, France last summer. Although I was intimidated to paint these roofs due to the difficulty of rendering the roof lines, it was a great exercise for the skills I have been teaching.
