This painting is the fourth of a new series titled “Walk the Talk”. Becoming an art teacher and instructor, I have realized I have not been using the skills that I have taught in my own production. My next challenge as an artist was to utilize the skills I teach. It sure has not been easy, but I have enjoyed going back to the basics. This painting started from the magnificent Rhododendron bush picture I took last spring in my yard. I used the composition tool of the triangle to display the flowers and the complementary color scheme of green and red hues. As I reflect on this series, I have enjoyed this artistic journey and I am looking forward to becoming a stronger artist and teacher.
