This painting is about how we are constantly connected to the world through our electronic devices. Here the reader reads an article from the magazine “Le Monde” (The World) from a tablet. Their phone is handy in case someone texts. The ambiance is grey, and kind of lonely. Reading on a device can isolate you even in a room full of people. However, the setting still has some humor: no matter how isolated the reader or how high-tech the tablet, the reader still needs the magic of simple reading glasses to access the content. Looks like humanity humbles us all... |
