This painting was commissioned by friends who bought a vacation house in a beautiful island on the French Atlantic coast called “Ile d’yeu”. They asked me to do a picture of their new home with the beautiful hydrangeas on the front, staples of the island. As I was visiting them, I took a lot of pictures to help me create the painting. The problem was that when I visited them, the hydrangeas had finished blooming, and their color what this brownish orange, not at all the color that they wanted on their painting. Once again, I went on a little Google investigation, and was able to find all the colors I was looking for.
