This is a great story of how an industrial outdoor mine was transformed Into a diverse natural area. My hometown of La Fleche filled in the various pits and pieces (pun intended) and created a site now rich in biodiversity and with many amenities for the locals. There's a wonderful beach, walking trails along the lakes, and it also now welcomes more than 30 migratory species every winter!

And as for me, it's an endless source of inspiration for my paintings - an extra amenity they didn't anticipate!
