I love Fauvism. Do you have any idea what I am talking about? It comes from the French word Fauve which means wild beast, like a lion, tiger or panther. It sounds kind of dangerous, but it might also make you think of warm and intense colors. That's where the word Fauvism comes from; it represents a French art movement from the beginning of the 20th century, where artists used warm and intense colors but also simplified the shapes of the painting.

Fauvism was quite an original idea at the time and belongs to a bigger trend toward abstraction. I love this style of painting, and one of my favorites is “ The Talisman” by Paul Serusier. You can easily find it on Google!!!

In this painting series I used "The Talisman" as an inspiration and painted using the fauve method - with bold colors and simplified shapes. It was much harder than anticipated, being farout of my comfort zone.
