A fellow artist who is also a photographer gave me a picture of herpink bike, and asked me to do whatever inspired me with it, inSeptember 2018. I have to say that I was particularly drawn to thisvintage bike resting on this old wood fence; it definitely had aFrench flair. The background of the photo though was very different,and it took me several tries before I found what I wanted to do with it... several tries meaning several months!

Finally the inspiration came from my own yard, where the rose bushes were wonderful and a perfect fit for my background. A year after receiving the photo, in September 2019, I finally knew how to finish the painting. And this time, it only took me a few days!
