Paintings of domestic life objects often have a strong female identity: flowers, teacups, fruits and food. I wanted to explore domestic objects with a stronger male identity: drills, screws, and other tools. Personally, I am much more of a handy woman than my husband. And I know many men who are great home cooks. I purposely chose colorful tools and arranged them to reflect the color wheel as a guide. In addition, I incorporated French terms to add an additional layer of interpretation. Now I leave you with these little charades and let you find out what they mean! |
