This is the beginning of a new series called “Walk the Talk”. Becoming an art teacher and instructor, I have realized I have not been using the skills that I have taught in my own production. My next challenge as an artist was to utilize the skills I teach. This painting is the first result of this series. I took inspiration from a photo I captured on the road to Royan, a beautiful beach town on the Atlantic coast of France. I felt as if I returned to my roots, which was refreshing as an individual and enlightening as an artist. Pushing my boundaries, combining my skills with my lessons, and learning from my students will allow me to become a better artist and teacher.
